Healthcare Specialist Website

This program provides students interested in a career in healthcare, with the necessay knowledge of the healthcare and body systems.  Students will focus specifically on medical terminology (prefixes, suffixes, and word roots) and anatomy and physiology.  Throughout the course, students will learn body systems and organs, common diseases, and identify procedures, treatments and diagnostic tests.
Students enrolled in this program complete the following high school courses over the course of one academic year.  
  • 7168 - Principles of Healthcare 
  • 5274 - Medical Terminology
  • Choice of one of the following:
  • 7165 - Emergency Medical Tech (see EMT Program for more information) or
  • 7166 - Healthcare Specialist - CNA (see CNA Program for more information)

Eligible Certifications: NCHSE, CPR, and NREMT or Indiana Nursing Assistant License
Dual Credit Provider: Ivy Tech
