Hammond Common Council Scholarship Available

The City of Hammond Common Council scholarship opportunity is now available to all School City of Hammond high school seniors who plan to enroll in either a two-year or four-year degree program at an accredited college or university. The deadline to apply is April 23. Download the application here.

The Hammond Common Council scholarship drawing will take place at the Common Council meeting on May 10. Recipients will be tentatively presented with a certificate at the Common Council meeting held on May 24.

Guidelines

  • Applicants must be 2020-2021 graduating seniors from a Hammond high school and a current resident of the City of Hammond.
    • Students attending Clark High School and residing in the Robertsdale area (but have a Whiting mailing address) still qualify to apply.
  • Applications must be completed in their entirety. Applications missing any information will not be considered. 
    • Completed applications must contain signatures of the applicant, school counselor, and parent/guardian (if the student is under 18 years old).

How to submit

  • Applications should be submitted directly to the high school counselor, who will in turn be responsible for submitting the applications to the district office. 
    • Due to COVID-19, counselors can scan the document and email it to Laine Kaminsky
  • If sending through the U.S. or school mail, all applications must be received by April 23.
    • Mailed documents should be sent to:
