Direct Certification for Free Textbook Assistance

Direct Certification for Free Textbook Assistance

SCH Families:

Notification emails went out yesterday (July 13) to Directly Certified (DC) families to receive free textbook assistance in the 2021-2022 school year. This email was delivered to the primary email contact listed in the student's PowerSchool account.
If you did not receive an email yesterday, make sure to fill out the application below. This can be done during the online registration process or done independently of the online registration. It's important to fill out the application even if you don't think you'll qualify, as these applications help districts like ours to receive funding.

Only one application is needed per household. The links are here:

Important: Please email the SCH Food Services Department as soon as possible if any of the following apply to you:

  • Your student was directly certified because of SNAP/TANF/Medicaid, AND there are other children [removed this text] who will attend SCH schools in your household who require textbook assistance who are not listed on your DC letter.
    • Note: If a student was approved based on foster status, eligibility is not extended to others in the household
  • You do not want your student to receive free textbook assistance.
