At Harding, we are dedicated to helping our students achieve success. We employ best practices in curriclum, instruction, and assessment in our effort to achieve this goal. We are committed to professional development as a means of improving our approach so that our students become well-rounded citizens.

Our curriculum is based on the following:
School City of Hammond’s Model for Effective Instruction: A Guide to Best Practices ---
1. Teach Indiana Academic Standards based curriculum, K – 5.
2. Implement data-driven instruction (based on ISTEP+ and local assessments).
3. Implement district initiatives, including:

- - - - - b. Process Writing
- - - - - c. Everyday Mathematics
- - - - - d. Inquiry Science

4. Use a variety of media and technology resources to access, organize, and analyze information.
5. Actively participate in professional development to improve instruction and increase student learning.
