Approval of Minutes
The Minutes of the September 10, 2007 special Board Meeting and the September 13, 2007, regular Board Meeting were approved as recorded.

Recommendations of the Superintendent
The Board approved the following recommendations of the Superintendent on personnel; accounts payable voucher registers; change order 003 for Lee Company, Inc. at Joseph Hess Elementary School; acceptance of donation by O’Bannon Elementary School in the amount of $768.01 from Woodmar United Methodist Church; acceptance of donation by Scott Middle School in the amount of $35.51 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program; acceptance of donation by Edison Elementary School in the amount of $209.09 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program; extra-curricular purchase by Scott Middle School of Student P.E. Uniforms in the amount of $1,300; extra-curricular purchase by Scott Middle School of Vending Pop Supplies in the amount of $512.90; extra-curricular purchase by Scott Middle School of Football Jerseys in the amount of $556.25; extra-curricular purchase by Scott Middle School of Student Agendas for 2007-2008 in the amount of $2,816; extra-curricular purchase by Scott Middle School of Supplies for Student Bookstore in the amount of $675; contract between the School City of Hammond and the Indiana Dunes Environmental Learning Center for Lafayette Elementary School students to participate in the program “Frog in the Bog”; extra-curricular purchase by Morton High School of Boys Tennis Crews + Shorts in the amount of $509; acceptance of donation by Morton Elementary School in the amount of $170.37 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program; acceptance of donation by Joseph Hess Elementary School in the amount of $193.14 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program; acceptance of donation by Eggers Middle School in the amount of $117.67 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program and in the amount of $17.64 from Abitibi Consolidated Corp.; acceptance of donation by Harding Elementary School in the amount of $518 from Prayer Child Foundation; acceptance of donation by Franklin Elementary School in the amount of $69.06 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program and in the amount of $16.37 from Abitibi Consolidated Corp.; acceptance of donation by Edison Elementary School in the amount of $21.52 from Abitibi Consolidated Corp.; acceptance of donation by Area Career Center in the amount of $66.61 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program; acceptance of donation by Lincoln Elementary School in the amount of $46.93 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program; change order 001 for Gariup Construction, Inc. at Morton High School; approval of the course fees for the 2007-2008 school year at the Area Career Center; approval of Wellness Panels On-Site 2007 Program; sale of Maywood Memorial Park to New Hope MB Church; acceptance of donation by Harding Elementary School in the amount of $167.20 from Target “Take Charge of Education” Program; PDS Agreement, August 2007-June 2008, between Indiana University Northwest School of Education (SOE) and the School City of Hammond (Clark Middle/High School); Hammond Head Start Budget for the grant year 2008-2009 (February 1, 2008 through January 31, 2009); free Indiana National Guard “Stay On Track/Substance Abuse Prevention Program” for grades 6th and 8th for the 2007-2008 school year in all four middle schools; and authorization for attendance at conference by Board Members.
