Goals

  • Graduate all incoming freshmen in four years.
  • Increase student engagement
  • Increase Rigor, Relevance, and Stretch Learning Opportunities
  • Establish meaningful and beneficial student:staff, and student:student relationship
  • Reinforce the understanding that effort directly affects success through academic performance and responsible citizenry

TEAMS
Freshmen will be grouped into one of three teams; Team Indiana University, Team Notre Dame, or Team Purdue University. Sophomores will be grouped into one of three teams; Team Ball State, Team Indiana State, or Team Valparaiso University. Students will remain in their teams all year, keep the same English teacher and have Math all year. Some exceptions may apply.

Philosophy

By establishing teams, it is our hope that students will build solid, positive relationships with each other. The team concept is used in middle school and we believe that, by using an approach as familiar, the transition will be successful.

IGNITE --
Freshman Mentoring Program

Ignite's High School Transitition initiative has two primary areas of focus: improving academic performance and building a community that supports and challengers.

By utilitizing our biggest asset - our own students - and working from the ground up to unify faculty and students with a common goal, Ignite is able to inspire positive change.
