Parent Coordinator: Jaquelyn Bush

Greetings Parents/Guardians,

My name is Jackie Bush and I am the Title I Parent Liaison, here at Eggers Middle School. Some of my job description is:

Serve as a liaison between administrators and Title I staff regarding Title I parent involvement issues.
Provide monthly tips, strategies, and ideas to parents. (Parent Meetings)
Be knowledgeable on the Title I parent involvement requirements in law.
Work with parents to update the District and School parent involvement policies and school-parent compact on a yearly basis.
Provide regular communication with parents to apprise them of events and opportunities at the school.

Help to develop a family friendly environment at the school.
Work with teachers to develop programs, activities, and events geared to reach the families of Title I students. (parent, Parent-Child Workshops)
Ask parents to evaluate parent involvement workshops and trainings.
Survey parents to assess the effectiveness of the school's parent involvement program.

Document all materials, files, events, etc., to be in compliance with the Title I parent involvement components.

Research shows that students whose parents are involved in their education have fewer discipline problems, grades go up, test scores go up, and they are less likely to use drugs and alcohol.
